Michel Simon Tuinman

painting - figurative - environment - abstract - drawing

In my paintings I try to take the observer to the place where I was at the time and the feeling that I experienced here. My paintings are not just a representation of reality, but a way of how I see the world. With a cohesion of compositions, color and brush techniques I try to convey to the observer how I experience this dynamic world. An image that often evokes recognisability in people. After all, we are all human and undoubtedly have common ground in how we see and experience the world. A great example for me in this is Edward Hopper. A master of portraying characters in isolated and deserted environments. He also focused on painting shadows and light to let the observer experience a certain atmosphere. His view of this world.
