Honey Kraiwee is an artist and curator who gives the moon new energies and forms of thoughts from Eastern perspectives. Honey invites people from multidisciplinary backgrounds to think and wonder together in human and nonhuman cosmology. Her works often put standards into questions and seek to go beyond linear thinking. Honey hopes to generate moments where rituals meet possibilities and technology converges upon minds.

Together with NonNativeNative, she has been constructing an alternative speculation – or rather – impression on the world's future, through critical reflection of Asian actors who are part of the global cultural landscape.

EDITION #04 ME ASIAN!? EXHIBITION INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION OF ASIA SCHOLARS 11 - The Me Asian!? Visual Archive is an exhibition of Me Asian!? digital image collection that responds to the question: ‘What does it mean to be Asian in Europe?’ The growing collection is created through an open submission via social media campaign #measianluc that invites the viewer to think of – rituals, places, objects, food, or traditions that are updated representations of the global Asian aesthetic. The project is organised by Non Native Native Embassy, an initiative that explores the practice of Asian creatives based in The Netherlands, together with Leiden University College The Hague (LUC). The 11th International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) is the most inclusive international gathering in the field of Asian Studies. ICAS attracts participants from over 75 countries to engage in global dialogues on Asia that transcend boundaries between academic disciplines and geographic areas. The programme is supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
WHY ARE YOU HERE? - “Why are you here?” is a question that can come across as offensive or even racist to many migrants around the world. This series of interviews however, posted the exact same question from a different ground – a genuine curiosity to get to know the person from a fellow migrant who understands the state of relocation. This conversation between Honey Kraiwee and curator, researcher Darunee Terdtoontaveedej starts off with this question and further explores the experience of a creative immigrant in the Netherlands from a critical point of view.
MOONMOON CALENDAR - MOONMOON CALENDAR announces multicultural lunar traditions and exposes an algorithmic similarity between astrologers and Artificial Intelligence (AI) through horoscopes. The project resets our way of thinking about time by reclaiming the throne from the sun back to the moon. The calendar uses fiction, non-sacred spirituality and sarcasm as a method to reflect on humanity and to imagine alternative possibilities. May it open up other forms of knowledge that are dominated by non-Western thinking.
