Philippa Driest (1993) is an artist and initiator of KIOSK Rotterdam. She was part of the first year of WHW Akademija, Zagreb (2018-2019), recently finished her MA at the Dutch Art Institute (2021) and BAK Fellowship for situated practice (2021-2022). Her recent research practice revolves around topics of maintenance, community and policy. In her work, she explores different sites of contamination and leakage through publishing, printed matter and (research) installations.

On Fridays from 14.00 - 20.00, you can find her in the bookshop KIOSK Rotterdam which she founded in 2018. KIOSK Rotterdam is a bookshop, (riso) print workshop and a leaky press. The selection hosts radical/critical theory, fiction, poetry and self-publishing practices. (Pieter de Raadtstraat 35a)

KIOSK Rotterdam - Since 2018 I run a space that started as a 3-month project in a former KIOSK space. KIOSK Rotterdam is a bookshop, (riso) print workshop, and a "Leaky Press". KIOSK functions as a meeting space for artists and critical thinkers. KIOSK emerged out of the need for an independent space for discussion, gathering and meeting. It is a space where practice and theory meet, following the thread of situated artistic practices as a way to express critique to our political, economic and social systems. It started off with a personal selection and grew to a collection of titles informed by people who visited, and shared their research and interests. The selection hosts radical/critical theory, fiction, poetry and self-publishing practices. KIOSK facilitates smallscale risoprinting possibilities and hosts a monthly riso printclub. On Fridays, from 14.00-20.00, you can find me at KIOSK.
‘Vocabulary of Hospitality: Knock Knock’ curated by Merve Bedir
