Rafael Romero Peña (ES) 1988, is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist currently based in Rotterdam. Rafael's work focuses on the intersection of anthropology, scenography, and film, via the exploration of its sculptural aspects, in order to understand how collective memory brings significance to place and space. His work is collaborative by nature and has been exhibited internationally in Germany, US, and Hong Kong.


Fever, 2019. - Fever is an inner dialogue between two extremes, an interrogation mark on the idea of ​​the “exotic”, and its representation through the “visual”. A film which aim is to explore the production, use, and consumption of visual imagery as an integral part of the heritage. Inspired by the claustrophobic atmosphere of Hong Kong where extreme living conditions, overpopulation, and its post-colonial identity crisis is, in turn, contrasted by the image of a modern capitalist paradise.
