- Voor de 10e keer op rij organiseerde het Mondriaan Fonds tijdens Art Rotterdam de tentoonstelling Prospects op het terrein van de Van Nelle Fabriek. De tentoonstelling liet van 19 t/m 22 mei 2022 het werk zien van 88 startende kunstenaars. Alle kunstenaars ontvingen in 2020 een financiële bijdrage van het Mondriaan Fonds om een start te maken met hun carrière.

Ondanks protesten en waarschuwingen leidt dit kapitalistisch systeem van ‘gewenste’ concurrentie tot monopolies, groeiende ongelijkheid en uitputting van zowel de mens als de planeet.

- With the growing urgency to recognize the global ecological crisis, spreading awareness on this issue is necessary. Only if we join forces can we address the global ecological crisis. How can we achieve this in a world where individualism is prominent? The films and video works shown at the event discuss the theme of the Commons and Commoning in a variety of ways to discuss possible paths to change. They stem from the need and desire to change social life and spark opinion.

- The Microfund Dinner is a microfunding initiative that provides an alternative funding system for creative projects. Guests are asked to make a small contribution (€8 min. suggested) in exchange for dinner and a ballot. During the dinner, guests become jurors: three select individuals will pitch their creative project during the dinner and all guests will vote for a project.

- In Promised Land overpeinzen vijf Amerikanen het vertrek van de Pilgrim Fathers uit Rotterdam, vierhonderd jaar eerder. Zij vertrokken destijds op het schip Mayflower vanuit Delfshaven. Eenmaal in Amerika aangekomen waren ze sterk afhankelijk van de oorspronkelijke bevolking en nuttigden ze de eerste Thanksgiving-maaltijd. Maar wat is de rol van de Pilgrims nu en moeten deze helden van weleer nog wel geëerd worden?
