Chih-Hsun Chien, born in 1990 in Taipei, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Rotterdam. Professionally trained theatre director, graduated from Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague and Taipei National University of Arts, he now carries out an activity woven into researches, dialogues, performances, and staging. He derives from his practice as a theatricality invoker a propensity to appropriate what is already presented in frames, in order to translate, despite the original forms of disciplines; therefore, his posture is that of a embodiment and re-performer who distils and reflects upon silver plates. His inspirers, ranging from Samuel Beckett to homebrewing, are scripts or spirits for his (re)creations, bodies that he likes to unfold upon new identities and meanings. Facing with the numberless constellations of possibilities, his means are dearly defined: he abstracts the architecture of choreography and musicality. This work of co-creation, like a therapeutic consultation, summons, by re-presenting them to Here, new ways of being.
