Fenna van Breda (2002) is a Rotterdam based artist and recent alumni from the Willem de Kooning academy.
Their work concerns the intersection of movement arts and textile based work.

Cleaning under the sink (2026) - Cleaning under the sink of a very ill and neglected person, left a deep impression on me. I scraped layers of dead maggots from the surface and felt the looming presence of spiders near my head. I later went back to this memory, the entanglement of environment and bodily experience had taken a shape and colour that only just needed to come out. I drew it on a large paper in all black and then i weaved it. Memory transformed like the matter of the making.

One size fits all (2023) - Bisquit fired clay. The work explores the intersection of womanhood and chronic pain.

In this workshop, movement educator Valeryia Liseichykava and I invited people to overturn familiar roles and behaviours in the museum, not to provoke, but to question and deepen the experience we can have there.
