Gayatri Kodikal

artistiek onderzoek - audiovisueel - interactief - schrijven - performance

Through the study of narratives as epistemological, Gayatri indulges in the specificities of the speculative, multiple histories and feminist decolonial / postcolonial politics. Moving image, sound, critical game design and oral storytelling performances lead her to play with decay, hauntings, encounters and world building. Her research investigates how the metaphor of the mangrove game world and 'shapeshifting' as a narrative trope lends itself to contemporary political strategies of embodiment. Currently she is cultivating a meditation on game making as critical artistic practice, inventing what she calls 'gameworld readings.'
