Hadrien Gerenton

beeldhouwen - figuratief

My work has often for point of departure a sum of collected images and memories.
Over the past few years I would say that most of my works have been influenced by different obser- vations of landscapes and outskirts of urban areas.
Places I have been traveling to recently in south of Europe, Morocco and also Asia or USA have been an essential influence for my comprehension of some aspects of society; especially on how humans have been modifying the territories and how it influenced the life of the species who lives on it.
My recent sculptures and paintings are like memories of landscapes fragments. They are composed by strange monstrous figures sometimes abstract, sometimes figuratives including a wide range of industrial materials referencing to the organic, the mineral or vegetal. making the assumption recent human activities had lead natural life to adopt new strategies in order to survive.
The works deal with an idea of wilderness, resilience through the filter of fiction and fantasy.
