Jacopo is a media designer with a multidisciplinary approach. Currently studying at Piet Zwart Institute's Experimental Publishing Master, he's active in the field of communication. His practice combines creative direction and organization of various types of events, sided by creating their visual identity - both in printed and digital form. His visual research derives from taking a closer look at the habits and occurrences of the ordinary-everyday life. A boundless groundwork exploring and translating the human trace into aesthetic matter. Well-reasoned or accidental pictures, drawings made during a long call, typography inspired from an old disco sticker and any-kind-of-unusual-collected material could be part of his imaginative and productive process. He's co-founder of Amphibia, an artistic platform working at the intersection of nightlife entertainment and visual research, focusing on printed matter and solid aesthetics in an effort to comprehend and expand the wholesomeness of the cultural experience, today.

The City Coloring Book - The City Coloring Book is a small publication that served as a tool for creating a specific situation in the contextual launch of "I Don't Know Where We're Going But...". For that purpose, I decided to hide the publications in a specific place - a small, shared neighborhood park where people were invited to go to trough a puzzle printed in the Booklet of the Special Issue 14.
“I Don’t Know Where We’re Going But…” - "I Don’t Know Where We’re Going But…"is a local networked city quest based in The Hague. During this special issue, we tried to imagine what the seventh issue of the Situationist Times could be if it were produced today. This resulted in a series of works located in hotspots installed throughout The Hague. The game involved supplying coordinates to the player that invites them into a psychogeographical exploration of this distributed publication. On their journey, they could find small games, images and zines which reflected the research taken over the course of the trimester. We challenged the themes of play and urban exploration by creating a small world for them to uncover.
Agency & Machine Publication - I designed and handcrafted the 150 copies of Roodkapje’s Agency & Machine publication, the result of the joined Hamburger Community program Agency & Machine, centred around the practice and work of Hamburger Community artist Gill Baldwin. The printed publication is accompanied by a cassette tape that contains two new electronic compositions by musicians Daanie van den IJssel & Tommy van Leuken, and bundles the experiences of participating residents, artists, musicians and researchers during the events of Agency & Machine.
Otherness, Wor(l)ds For The Future - This project is a republication of Words for the Future (2018), a multivoiced series of ten booklets. In the 2020 version, XPUB1 (Experimental Publishing) students from the Piet Zwart institute reinterpret the original material through methods such as annotating and prototyping in Python (a coding language we used to analyse text as texture). The ten booklets were cross-examined and mapped in order to find interconnections and links.
