land art - publieke ruimte - sculptuur - sociaal-maatschappelijk - tekenen

My work is spatial and explores the intersection between public space, theater, and architecture. It ranges from photography to performance, drawings, and models, often manifesting physically as public sculpture or land art. Through the combination of these various mediums, I am interested in crafting site-specific situations and rituals that provoke understanding between people, animals and environments with an overarching emphasis on finding alternative ways of living and being. The creation of such situations - or scenographies - are central to my practice, conceived as atmospheres that transform over time.

Labyrinth - A labyrinth makes us aware of our involvements with space. Walking its path summons questions of where we are in the world and in which direction we are headed. This work is a precursor to a larger labyrinth planned for later this year on the south-west periphery of the Nature Cemetery 'De Utrecht'. It is made from pieces of Shou Sugi Ban, an ancient Japanese technique that preserves wood with fire. The act of walking the labyrinth allows the grieving soul to draw a line with the feet; exploring space with the body whilst contemplating an outcome in the mind. Exhibited in 'LandArt Route' group exhibition, Nature cemetery 'De Utrecht', Esbeek (NL)
Splash Metronome - The rhythmic audiovisual piece shows the practice of ‘Magnet Fishing’. The work explores the mystery of the unexpected and chance encounter amplified by the splashes and bubbling of the water as the magnet sinks from the surface to the basin.
Shady Corners - A hanging chair sculpture, city park for crows, and legendary stone based on the complex past of a small town in former East Germany - Kalbe (Milde). Living in the shadow of WWII and the Iron Curtain, the town is the subject of several absurdities, which are identified and accentuated through both real and imagined scenarios. wood, paper, gypsum, ink, Performance by Felix Mohr, Nieuw en Meer, Amsterdam, NL, 2021, Photo Credits: Danielle van Ark

Carpet of the Rock - A wooden carpet that sheds light on comical clashes between bird species in the Fontelo Woods, Viseu, Portugal. The work is a semi-permanent public sculpture for creatures, nature and people, emphasizing the importance of pluralistic approaches within environments, and allowing for a longterm cohabitation with its environment. wood (pine, chestnut, oak), oil paint, steel 300 x 400 x 40 cm Viseu, PT, 2020 Photo Credits: POLDRA
