Jelmer Konjo graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy as an illustrator, but developed himself into a versatile artist creating paintings, sculptures and installations with a characteristic naive and colorful style.
In his work he mainly plays with composition, color, form and he loves to include interactive components to surprise and trigger his audience.

**Colorful Gesture , Pictura dordrecht** - In ‘COLORFUL GESTURES’ komen kunstenaars Cindy Bakker (1989), Jelmer Konjo (1993) en Katrijn Verstegen (1977) samen. Bij alle drie staat de ruimte die het werk inneemt centraal. Daarbij worden alledaagse elementen gebruikt om letterlijk kleur te geven aan de tentoonstelling. De bezoeker wordt uitgenodigd om het werk te ervaren en de reis die de kunstenaars aanbieden te ondergaan.

**ALL CAPS X WEAR X JELMER KONJO** - Serie van twee wipwap sculpturen gemaakt met afgekeurde schoenen en materialen van wear. Voor ALL CAPS 2023. "WEAR verkoopt pre-loved sneakers. Dit zijn opgeknapte tweedehands sneakers, voorzien van een nieuw binnenzooltje. Door sneakers een langer leven te geven verminderen we de CO2-uitstoot en wordt de fashion afvalberg kleiner.

**Jungle Gym /Palm forest " Art week 2022"** - Jungle Gym is a playful art show by Noel deelen & Jelmer Konjo With works by: Amrith de Zoete, Bas Ruis, Cesare Botti, Daan Koens, Jaasir linger, Laura schurink, Naamloozz, Tim mastik & Tim Mulder

**HILTON ART LAB " you can't rush art"** - Voor de komende twee weken zal het Hilton Art Lab functioneren als een experimenteel gedeeld atelier met onder andere Maurice (haterraid) ,Nazif lopulissa, Amrith de Zoete, Joost Vermeer & Jelmer Konjo. Deze werk periode zal gebruikt worden om te experimenteren met nieuwe materialen, tools en media. Hierbij nodigen we je uit om het weekend van 16-18 mei het resultaat te komen bekijken. **Educatie project AZC Rijswijk** - Een serie workshops waarin gezamelijk gewerkt wordt tot een instalatie en muurschildering met de kinderen die wonen in het AZC in Rijswijk. In samenwerking met Stichting de Vrolijkheid & Kenneth Letsoin (Naamloozzz)

**I AM AN ACTUAL ADULT** - Deze tentoonstelling maakt deel uit van een beeldend onderzoek waarin Jelmer Konjo onderzoekt en observeert hoe wij in onze alledaagse leven omgaan met de norm “volwassen (zijn)” en wat dit betekent. Binnen deze norm liggen allerlei verwachtingen en projecties, en is er vaak een spanningsveld tussen wat als ‘volwassen’ en wat als ‘onvolwassen’ wordt gezien. Er wordt bijvoorbeeld verwacht dat je op een gegeven moment bijvoorbeeld bepaalde dingen verleert of niet meer interessant mag vinden.

**Art Playground by Jelmer Konjo at Kunstuitleen Rotterdam** - ART PLAYGROUND BY JELMER KONJO ‘Playing Life’ means that you never stop developing, learning and discovering. This does not even have to be for a purpose, as we often teach ourselves when we are older. Playing limitlessly, without worrying about an end result, is something that many of us lose when we grow up. Can you remember when you were just making something purely for pleasure? That was probably a long time ago. As a child you draw or build entire installations with blocks, clay and other materials, just because it feels good and gives you pleasure. You are constantly creative, free and unlimited in what you do and that makes you happy. As you get older this often disappears and you spend a lot of time on things that must have a function. You are so tired in the middle of your year in the workplace that you dream of the summer vacation. This summer vacation is then seen as the days for which you "life". Then you feel happy again and you promise yourself not to be stressed. Except for those two days a week that we call "weekend" or free time where you can take a break. And before you know it you are back at the office. Jelmer Konjo invites you to feel, to build and to draw with shapes instead of just looking. Go and play for yourself, so that you can experience a little this summer what you may have lost in your childhood. Has been shown at Kunstuitleen Rotterdam

**Dakpark Sculpture** - This sculpture was colored by kids out of the neighborhood Delfshaven and placed on the Dakpark. This was part of a workshop to raise awareness and teach children about public art and the public space together with Foundation Mesh.

**Badmenton** - BADMENTON [verb] Pronunciation: [betmenton] Design method in which a block of concrete is thrown over until it turns into the shape of a rock. The block is the core of this game between the artists Jelmer Konjo and Noël Deelen (Venour). Playfully, the two adjust the piece of concrete to their taste. They chop, saw and scrape as stones transform each other when startled by an avalanche. The objects originate from a production process in which interaction and severe power lead to unexpected events. In 2020 Badmenton presents: vases, a candle holder, lamp, a table and stool.

The original idea was to make a couple of analog arcade type of games in combination with paintings so the visitor could play around in the space. Due to the covid rules we had to downscale it a little bit and settled creating a half court where if you make the shot you can win a print or shirt.
