Kas (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist focused on documentary projects, whose work centralises finding place within identities, bodies, communities, and geographical spaces. They place great importance on representation and ethical practice, prioritizing co-creation and finding reciprocal storytelling methods in their projects.
They graduated from St. Joost School of Art and Design in 2023 with the short documentary film Oaia Neagră, which premiered at Nederlands Film Festival. The short won the VPRO Documentary Prize as well as the title for Best Film at Vers Film Festival, and was selected for NPO’s Makers van Morgen. It has since been selected for festivals such as Roze Filmdagen, Rotterdams Open Doek, DocLisboa, and was nominated for best documentary of Shortcutz Amsterdam 2024.
In 2024 they were one of eight selected participants for the year-long NEXT Talent Development Trajectory by Playgrounds, and completed the course Script Writing at the Scenariovakschool in Amsterdam.
Presently they are finalizing a collaborative documentary project with transgender migrants in The Netherlands. This project consists of a documentary short film, a collaboration with Teledoc Campus, CoBo, and HUMAN, and a new media zine on migration, homonationalism, and dis-identification.

Identity Not (Altogether) Detected (IND) is a hybrid documentary project about queer migration and homonationalism, consisting of a film and a new media zine. It addresses refuge, dis-identification, community and integration by giving agency to a marginalized group that rarely gets to tell their own stories.
