Haunted Analogies, 2023, modified found objects, wood, wax, metal - Having moved to Rotterdam in 2021 I only experienced the city after De-Player had become an inactive legacy. Word of mouth is that it was a vibrant meeting point for enthusiasts of experimental sound and performance art. After doing some research, reflecting on the organizations manifest and reviewing its past publishing work, I (once again) felt an ideological connection to something that had already passed. When we started to transition Hillelaan 49D into the workspace that it is today, I could not stop but think how what it was will influence what it will become. While the functional characteristics of a creative space shift over time, the matter that stays represents an enduring constant. Haunted Analogies are a group of objects made out of material that was left behind. By modifying these materials, I question the presence of an inscribed meta-social code, the need to decipher and the many misunderstandings that a process like that can lead to.

Geier aus Stahl – “Strapazen und Genesung” 12″, 2022 - Geier aus Stahl is one of the many artistic guises of Leonard Prochazka. No superfluous elements take away from the core experience of his sound. Somewhere a statement from David Byrne crossed our path, able to highlight something of the essence of Leonard's art: “No matter how alienated the subject or the singer might appear, the groove and its connection to the body would provide solace and grounding. But the edgy, uncomfortable stuff was still on the foreground”. The debut album 'Strapazen und Genesung' takes us to an exciting world that twists, squeaks and creaks, yet is grounded by an unmistakable groove. Released on Knekelhuis (Amsterdam) in June 2022.
down the rabbit hole, 2021, mixed media installation - The desire for individualized rhythms today already represents an oppositional attitude towards the common. While the parameters of our cages underlie the constant acceleration of all given processes, I trust in the irregularities, the questions, the unexplained potential that lies dormant in the back of our minds.

Bonfire, 2019, Wood, Ash, Synthetic foil - With delocating this bonfire I chased my wish to see a point in time from two different angles. The currency of the object appears as an illusion. How can I achieve being absolutely present and still keep the charming melancholy of the bygone moment alive?
Kill Hydra, 2018, pen on paper
Display zur Veranschaulichung von Spuren und Ablagerungen der erhaltenden Macht, 2017, Clay, Wood, Steel - On the occasion of the yearly exhibition of our university I built a display containing 100 kg of clay free for the visitors of the exhibition to use. For the duration of the exhibition (7 days) my only job was to keep this organic mass alive (moist) and observe how it evolves. I wanted to supply the visitors with a simple and hierarchy less moment to give shape to their current surrounding. Phone numbers were exchanged, poems written, body parts and faces formed, walls were built, other artworks destroyed and clay fights broke out. The next day I found my display as a remaining piece of decisive chaos. Rhizom like the gestures people executed spread through the whole building.
Resource Archive I-II, 2016-?, 3D animated video loop, transcribed text (excerpt of a series) - Every entry to the archive allows me to complete and get rid of a thought. I gain distance. Suddenly i get an overview. I‘m the observer. The subjective experience becomes an adaptable instrument. A reflexive moment as tool that was made to contribute to a collective understanding.
er/schöpfung, 2016, digital collage, oil crayon, clay, acrylic paint, mat lacquer (excerpt of a series) - Every piece is part of a wider network. An infinite amount of potential and actual substance, spatial and temporal units, an eternal progression of causes are reflected in the combination of objects and the line of thoughts.
