Failure to Care (Self-care and Giving) - Artistic research in process / Residency at air WG, NL. (2022) / Solo Exhibition at point WG, NL. (2022) Photo Credit: Ilya Rabinovich The work tries to unlock the failures of social constructs by analyzing the body's gestures of care—students napping on the table as self-care and massages as care-giving. The nuances of these tacit knowledges of an individual body are delivered via inspiration from Youtube video themes, such as tutorials and ASMR. The artist aims to rethink the replacement of care in aspects of individualization, commodification, and digitalization. Failures to Care is an ongoing project where the slippages and mistakes between labour, sexuality and identity are highlighted in the industry of wellness along with their entanglement with resistance and solidarity. These concepts are tied to the need of the social body to feel safe and comfortable by its community. As a freelance masseur, Yu's own experiences inform the works in the exhibition as she captures moments of exhaustion and discomfort in a quest for the fulfillment of basic human needs.” Summary from air WG.

Updates from The Nomad - The outcome from the Crypto Residency Program(online), Treasure Hill Artist Village, Taipei, TW. 2023 Updates from The Nomad" aims to depict a glimpse into the life of Digital Nomads through a series of written postcards. The text on these postcards unveils the stories and thoughts of an anonymous Digital Nomad, conveyed in a bright and almost naive tone. On the flip side, the postcards feature a collage of scenes from both physical and virtual spaces. While showcasing romantic travel scenes, this visual narrative is disrupted by the intrusion of a screen and its content. Through this juxtaposition, the work offers memetic humor, serving as a critical reflection on the over-romanticized lifestyle of digital nomads.

Routines and rhythms are observed as they influence our memory and emotions, and shape our mentality.
