I’m a Rotterdam-based photographer working in portrait, fashion, and commercial photography, alongside an independent practice focused on storytelling and emotional atmosphere. I’m interested in what lies beneath the surface; how people and places carry quiet tension, tenderness, and history.

My project Battle Ground, USA looks at rural America during a politically charged time: landscapes that appear calm and ideal, yet feel unresolved underneath. In 2024 I published the work as a photobook. The work has also been shown in Rotterdam contexts, including presentations at the Ballon Rouge gallery and at Photobookstore.nl's Rotterdam store.

In my process I’m inspired by “fresh eyes”: returning to familiar situations and trying to see them differently. I often work with analogue lenses and embrace imperfections. I’m drawn to black-and-white for its clarity and restraint—an aesthetic that can feel raw, direct, and timeless. My approach is influenced by photographers such as Alec Soth, Gregory Halpern, and Joel Sternfeld, particularly in how they build narrative through small details, atmosphere, and human presence.

Over the past year I’ve been increasingly active in group contexts, showing work alongside other Rotterdam-based photographers—most notably in Where We Were at Ballon Rouge (19 September–8 November 2025). I also participated in Ballon Rouge’s winter salon-style group exhibition When Flowers Sleep (29 November–20 December 2025).
