Maxim de Gilder is an illustrator from Rotterdam with a background in graphic design. His work is characterised by bold lines, playful shapes, and quirky characters, creating colourful and light-hearted illustrations. He explores different materials and techniques to bring his ideas to life. From editorial pieces to murals and various collaborative projects, his illustrations aim to evoke joy, curiosity, and a sense of connection.

**Hike** - This painting was part of my duo exhibition with graphic designer Lilo Boerman at Man Met Bril Koffie. 80 x 60 cm. Acrylic paint. 265 g/m2 eco-paper.

**RET Bus mural** - In collaboration with All Caps and RET, I created a mural on a vintage bus, celebrating the spirit and diversity of the people of Rotterdam.

**Illustration for De Morgen** - An editorial piece for Belgian newspaper De Morgen, featuring an in-depth interview with a judge and a former prisoner.

**Rug heads (sold)** - What started as a study on materials and colours ended with a series of three rugs, in the shape of heads. Each with its own color range and character properties. Titled: Prof. Green, Mr. Peach and Ms. Plum.

**Canteen mural** - Wall painting I made in the canteen of Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam

This very green expo offers you the serenity of the forest, capturing its activities and onomatopoeia in a way only nature can - no tent or bug spray required. This duo exhibition by Maxim de Gilder and Lilo Boerman, is on display at Man Met Bril Koffie (Rotterdam) for the months of January and February 2025.
