Nienke Terpsma

DIY - documentair - ecologie - geluid - publicatie

Visual artist and book designer, studied fine-art, was film operator in a local film house, worked for several years as a photographer, did an MA in editorial design at the Werkplaats Typografie. Since then, she has worked closely and in various roles together with artists, authors and publishers on book- and other projects. From 2004 on, with Rob Hamelijnck, she makes the travelling artist-(maga)zine for non-academic research Fucking Good Art. FGA engages in field research into the humus & life around the artwork, (local) conditions of art and culture, with a special interest in oral history, history of ideas, anarchism, self-organisation and DIY-T/do it yourself-together. FGA appears irregularly, mostly on paper or as radio, sometimes as an installation in museum contexts—but always from a local specificity and with other makers and thinkers. From 2012—'18 Nienke was core tutor at the Master of Choreography in Arnhem. Since '22, with choregrapher Emilier Gallier, she works on an ongoing research project: The Gleaners and the Worms.
