Based in Rotterdam, Chester is a transdisciplinary artist, designer, and researcher whose work spans various creative fields. His practice is driven by 'autonomous knowledge' - both as a process and an objective. By challenging the authority of existing frameworks of knowledge, he engages in continuous re-experimentation and re-application, seeking to uncover the unknown through direct interaction. This approach allows him to constantly reassess his relationship with his surroundings, exploring the shifting boundaries between self, art, and environment.

Bridge Hole - Urban workshop for teens
As Heping-Xinsheng Overpass approaches demolition and the Taipei Brewery site undergoes transformation, Taipei's urban landscape is rapidly evolving. Another soon-to-vanish site is the Bade Market, tucked under Jianguo Expressway-a place that has engaged artists, designers, and architects through immersive creative interventions.
This November, we invite teens aged 12-19 to join an intensive, "Research by Doing" urban workshop.
Departing Shore
If the lost Dutch souls of Penghu returned to Rotterdam, they’d find an unrecognizable home—its coastline reshaped, old shipping lanes erased. With ancient charts invalidated, they trace their memories, walking along the Maas as GPS records their route—not with ink and pen, but with footsteps and signals. Chester imagined himself as these wandering souls, retracing their journey to the original VOC chamber, marking a place where they could finally unload their trade goods and rest.
