As an artist, my creative practice is based on my intuition, my beliefs, and the connection I establish with the subjects. This approach is not only based on how I develop my projects but also how I direct my path in life. When it comes to creativity I always try to get inspired by visiting museums, art exhibitions, follow certain social media platforms and reading articles about upcoming artists as well as my experience and observations.

We live in a world of speed, where you can easily get distracted by everything around you and sometimes it can be very overwhelming. But it is very important to focus on the things that matter to you. What drives me and keeps me focused is creating a beautiful world where I can share stories and help people along the way. I only create and get involved in projects that I find beautiful or stimulating, and I try to have fun as much as possible during the process.

Equally important is that my work sparks discussions and develops new ways of thinking about how we see and perceive the world.

LUNULA; UÑA I KULTURA - Lunula is a short documentation of photo series that was created during 1,5-month journey in the Caribbean, where I have ‘’stranded’’ on the island Curaçao. During this voyage, I had the privilege to deep dive into the cultural traditions of several communities and echelons. Witnessing parts of heritage and beliefs that have been untouched ever since the Dutch colonisation. Additionally, Nail art has become a charm of empowerment and hold intentions in a broader sense of imagination, feeling and being.

Amor en tiempos de Corona - Even though we were not allowed to be outside and be around people. It made me think about love even more and this is where my new series started. Our freedom was taken from us but that didn't stop us from Loving even more.
#toekomstbankje - Perrine Philomeen :@pphilomeen Rotterdam is cool! Rotterdam is dé stad waar culturen samenkomen. Hier komen grote vraagstukken bij aan te pas en gaat niet altijd zonder slag of stoot. Toch is ons( utopische) droom dat we in Rotterdam elkaar respecteren, elkaar als gelijke zien en in harmonie met elkaar leven. Waarbij we elkaars verschillen ‘to the max’ eren!! Zodat Rotterdam een grote mengelmoes van culturen is en deze samensmelting uitbundig gevierd mag worden! Free Atlast - Jack Shahine is a freelance Press photographer and managed to capture moments of joy of Syrian women crossing the border while escaping from the IS. On their way, they changed their black robes for a colorful outfit to express their refound sense of freedom. Inspired by this picture I plan a photo series about women who demonstrate their freedom by unveiling their breast. This action first and foremost requires courage. For me its more about the self-consciousness of these women then showing something sexual. Not showing their faces is part of the concept. Because it’s not about the identity behind their bodies but the pure expression of their bodies.

Ayahuasca - This project is about the use of the Peruvian healing plant ; Ayahuasca and its effect on mind and body, using mental and physical transformation as focus point. For this series I have worked together with stylist Inez Naomi. As for the clothing, we’ve used a lot of bright colours and graphic prints. This of course amplifies the visual story we are trying to tell.
