Sjoerd Labega is a designer and artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
His work brings together classic, recognisable elements and personal artistic exploration, often centred on materials, techniques, and craftsmanship. The encounter between these worlds results in a subtle and playful tension.
Through an observant approach, he reconsiders ordinary objects. He transforms rigid materials into malleable forms, and explores the space between comfort and discomfort, between timeless craft and contemporary production cycles. Through these contrasts, he questions how we perceive, value, and experience the objects that surround us.

Plastic is here to stay, and in the hands of skilled designers and artisans, even ordinary scraps can be transformed into fascinating and valuable collectibles.
