Lola Giuffré (b. 1995) is an Australian artist and jeweller based in Rotterdam. With a background in mechanical engineering and goldsmithing, she combines computational design with the slowness of traditional craftsmanship. Through this intersection, she engineers objects and mechanisms that exhibit unexpected motion and transformation - pieces that move, transform, or invite physical interaction. She is fascinated by impermanence and the mutable nature of seemingly rigid systems. What appears rigid and unchanging is often actively deforming, adapting, or breaking down. Her practice spans intimate, body-worn pieces to larger sculptural works and installations.
