I am a visual artist, spatial designer, and design & artistic researcher working across physical and digital environments. My works stem from a desire to counter the heaviness of everyday life by creating moments of relief and lightness—experiences where people can slow down, discover something unexpected, and reconnect with themselves, each other, and the world around them. By exploring and researching the relationship between people and their surroundings—natural or constructed—I am curious about how all things influence one another and the consequences of these interactions. Through a sensitive and multidisciplinary approach, I aim to offer new perspectives on how we perceive and inhabit the world, while inviting others to reflect and feel together.

My Voice in The City
My Voice in The City - This short film and research project explores not only how urban spaces influence our senses and emotions, but also how I can be heard when louder voices easily overpower my own. It uses film as a tool to examine the relationship between cities, architecture, and storytelling.
Merits of Struggle
Merits of Struggle - Behind glamorous skins lies a struggling mind. As foreigners, it takes time to learn and understand what is going on around us. Merging into a new environment can feel overwhelming, yet it is something we all must face. The natural formation of gelatine creates fluctuating shapes, representing how one can experience struggle. Traces of confusion, explosion, and serenity are continuously left behind, forming a path that perhaps has no end. But that is okay—it isn't bad to be lost, is it? We are on a never-ending journey of discovery.

Emitting Papers
Emitting Papers - Paper and lights are traditionally combined in the orient. That is what I started with in my research, to the exception that instead of a light source, I decided to play with fluorescent colors and their reflecting power. By layering colored papers and translucent ones, I play with the absorbing and reflecting qualities of the materials, bringing them together in order to make them glow. I then use color as a structural elements that comes to rigidify the ambiguous and fragile translucent paper into small products.

The Light of Colour
The Light of Colour - The atmosphere of a space is paramount to the way we feel: “It's like an invisible radiation that affects us unconsciously.” It fosters intimacy with our surroundings. But can objects themselves radiate atmosphere? If so, how? In this project, I use color to accomplish this. Like light, color too can be a powerful tool to add ambience. I apply the brightest hues and then 'dims' them with translucent layers. Tables and wardrobes seem to glow with a warm inner light, and tubular standing lamps come alive, shining without a single bulb. Together, 'The Light of Colour' invites a more vivid interaction with inanimate furnishings that goes beyond the functional. Photo by Femke Rijerman

Forecasting Rotterdam Circular

In samenwerking met: Gemeente Rotterdam, Dutch Design Foundation, Studio Makkink & Bey

Invited by Dutch Design Foundation & Studio Makkink & Bey, the assignment is to forecast how circular economy influences the neighbourhoods in Rotterdam spatially and culturally in 2099. The outcome is a speculative illustration of M4H area with an extensive research on socio-economy, ecology, and culture.

My Voice in The City

Developed with filmmaker Jord den Hollander during the Film and Architecture Studio, a research project using filming as a tool, not only about how spaces in the urban environment influence our senses and emotions but also questioning how I could be heard while louder voices easily overpower mine. The public screening took place on 9th of October.

IABR – DOWN TO EARTH WATERSCHOOL M4H+

Collaborating with Studio Makkink & Bey, WATERSCHOOL M4H+ investigates how a range of resources can contribute to building a sustainable and circular learning environment, in order to meet the water challenge and ensure an optimized ecological footprint for the 6,300 future residents of Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H+) in Rotterdam. This project was commissioned by the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, IABR, for its 9th edition DOWN TO EARTH.

CODA Paper Art – Emitting Papers
