My collective work is a study of the transformative nature of consciousness.
Transcending the boundary between abstract and the representational.
My paintings explore the relation between memory and sensory impulses from the present. Glitching forms and shapes referencing identities caused by generational migration, displacement and generational trauma not unfamiliar in persons from settler colonial heritage. A painting practice rooted with a non conformist attitude and a strong dissent for authoritarian systems.
Exploring the boundaries between abstract and the representational.

These paintings could be viewed as autobiographical, gestural, abstract landscapes reflecting an inner world. Paintings rooted in transformations, becoming a framework for perceptual faculties that address our associative mind. Exploring the relationship between the immaterial; capturing fleeting moments, recollections and emotions translated to the material; distilling an impression into a color and a color into subjective experiences. Creating shapes guided by intuitive choices, becoming a framework for perceptual faculties that address our associative mind.

**"Plutocracy Society; the only color my father sees is green." 2017** - From the series; Political Landscapes: 2017 Quote from Donald Trump Junior in respons to being asked if his father is racist.

**"Nevertheless she persisted" 2017** - From the series Political Landscapes 2017. Quote taken from Senator Elizabeth Warren after standing on pink sneakers in an effort of performative activism for female rights in the United States. This work got selected for the Dutch Royal Painting Price in 2017 and won the award for the publics favourite.

**Research Paper Making Peru.** - Chopping banana leaves with a machete. Cooking the leaves plain air in the jungle. Crushing the fibers with a large stone. Draining the fibers. Pressing the fibers. Drying the paper. Bitten by mosquitos while the men of the jungle village where getting drunk and the Catholic church was playing a tape through the radio airwaves.. Saying: "Hay que sufrir."

**Stoning the Romance 2019** - Research project in the jungle of Peru in 2017. Stone crushing pigments, natural dyes from fruits, pits, plants and ashes. Shown at the Artist collective and residency program; Kaus Australis in 2019

**Boomwortels / re-imagining tree roots. 2021** - After the last painting made by Vincent van Gogh. Commissioned by the Vincent van Goghhuis in Zundert. Here shown at an exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum, Breda in 2022.

**The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. 2024** - Part of the exhibition “How to End” at artist collective Pictura. Titel taken from the science fiction novel by American writer Robert A. Heinlein about a lunar colony’s revolt against absentee rule from planet Earth.

**Three hands on the belly of the beast. 2024** - Installation of paintings made throughout the dystopian genocidal year of 2024. Here shown in the group show; “How to End?” A group show at Pictura, Dordrecht. Curated by Frans van Lent.

**Episodes of imperial decay. 2025** - Painting reflections on the moral decay and unleashed fascism coming to a conscience near you.
