Dorchess is an experience designer/artist based in Rotterdam with an unquenchable desire to create authentic experiences. Change is the only constant. With that in mind Dorchess constantly creates awareness of and connects people to their purpose.

She also writes poetry and co-organises Poiesis - open mic poetry events, every last Thursday of the month.

She is attracted to complexity and assists organisations in transformation using her creativity and versatility.

In her work she uses textiles, portrait & natural nude photography, collage and poetry. Dorchess’ art is often tactile, and always driven by an underlying sensitivity to human emotion and the need for belonging.

Mother Maker Art Experience - Art Experience 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 ✨ 🌊 How do you connect with the concept of "Mother" in your life? Designer kimono's featured the concept symbolically by Mother Nature, Mother Sea, Mother Nurture, Mother Earth, Mother Creator, Mother of Cultures or Mother of Ages. 🥰 The Mother archetype is a profound source of regeneration. 💛 This Art Experience captured so much of that essence, bringing it to life for the audience. The event featured a mesmerizing blend of dance, cello music, and a captivating fashion walk. ✨ Attendees left feeling enriched and deeply connected to the maternal influences in their lives, grateful for the experience. Under the Skin
Under the Skin - An Art Experience of sculptures that could be touched, artistic photography, sound bowls and interactive poetry. We served bites that matched the materials and colours of the sculptures, including kurkuma and cocoa. The wonderful mix of materials and art forms made the experience immersive. People were guided into making a poem together with the words they wrote about the artworks they had seen and held. Then the two artists gave some more information on the creation process and both recited poetry relating to the work. Next, visitors were invited to lay down comfortably (with mats, blankets and pillows) and to relax into the resonance of sound bowls. This sound bowl session was guided by Lizz Allan & partner. This way the audience had the opportunity to integrate what they had seen, heard and felt. We organised two of these art experiences. The second one was at Smaak Rotterdam, with cellist Jascha Bordon that played live, inspired by the artwork around him.

I am grey nor black nor white I'm colourful Portray me, let me arise! YOU Art - Fotografisch kunstproject waarbij Dorchess als art director voor diverse modellen een combinatie van klederdracht en 'lokaal vervaardigd' textiel uit verschillende werelddelen (zoals Frans tafellinnen, Indonesische batik, Afrikaanse vlisco, en Thaise zijde) ontwierp waarin diverse culturele achtergronden werden gerepresenteerd.

Experience Eyes on me
Experience Eyes on me - Het werk getiteld ' Sun Child ' bekent kleur en roept op tot omhoog kijken en uitreiken naar dat wat komt. De warmte van het zomerseizoen, de warmte van mens tot mens over jezelf heen laten komen. In de houding van het model zie je dat zij de zonnestralen uitnodigt over haar heen en dat haar kleurrijke innerlijk warmte uitstraalt! In dit project werd het kind zelf het kunstwerk. Zo kwam kunst dicht op de huid en blijft het niet bij aanschouwen alleen. Eyes on Me - Haute Couture kunstportretten van onvergetelijke kinderen Eyes on Me is tentoongesteld tijdens Art Rotterdam, bij kunstroute Kralingen-Crooswijk en bij het benefiet evenement 'Take Five' met ensemble Jazziam, inclusief wijn-proeverij in Bangkok Thailand waarbij de opbrengst van kaartverkoop ten goede kwam aan een pleegzorg-initiatief. At this interactive, inter-disciplinary art experience (including a workshop) we celebrate MOTHER!  We gather to celebrate this with live music, poetry, dance and an artistic fashion design catwalk featuring 7 motherly qualities in symbolic kimonos: Mother Nature, Mother Nurture, Mother Earth & Sea, Mother Creator, Mother of Cultures and Mother of Ages!
 
We all have a mother. We carry the longing and need for security, warmth, nurture and care within us. This Art Experience makes this tangible.

Bij deze Art Experience werden de kunstvormen poëzie, muziek, scultpuren, fotografie en textiel gecombineerd in een unieke interactieve avond. Het thema is 'Under the Skin'. Het gaat over de behoefte aan tactiliteit en over de innerlijke gelaagdheid van de mens.

Eyes on Me - haute couture art portraits

'Oog op mij' - Onvergetelijke Kinderen! Een serie artistieke 'haute couture' kunstportretten van en voor kinderen: levensgrote kunstwerken gemaakt op basis van een foto bewerkt met textiel (fotograaf Lideke Detmers).

LOVE - Engelstalig poëzine - dichtbundel in de vorm van magazine

Een poëzine, een dichtbundel waarin fotografische beelden en gedichten worden gecombineerd. Hiermee wordt de drempel voor niet-poëtici verkleind om eens een gedicht te lezen.

In Liefde met Gaten lees men over de liefde in haar verscheidenheid, maar uiteraard ook hier incompleet, verkreukeld en nog lang niet uitgeleerd...
