Jannetje Jeanine Verloop (Korendijk, The Netherlands, 1994) invites viewers to immerse themselves in an alternative reality where technology is driven not by control and precision but by vulnerability, malfunction and destruction.
Driven by a fascination with how technology can shape, expand, and limit our imagination, Verloop’s work has evolved from her early studies in illustration (2018) to include abstract printing devices, media archaeology, scientific glassblowing, destructive machine performances, experimental film, and experimental sound- and interactive installations.

To mark the 150th anniversary of the former Lennarz glassworks, in whose converted premises the Philara Collection has been housed since 2016, Philara presents an extensive exhibition on glass in contemporary art. The presentation is a wide-ranging examination of how structure and chaos, as well as other contradictions inherent in this versatile material, can be reconciled.

Under the title The Zone-inspired by Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker (1979)-the works of Ine Lamers and Jeanine Verloop together construct a fictional landscape from a distant land. Lamers’ photography work Hinterland is part of her long-term research project into the utopian model city of Zheleznogorsk in Russia, a place that was a secret until the 1990s and remains inaccessible to this day.

We explored experimental printing methods with their first song 'States of Matter'.
