Marc ter Horst is a creative thinker, visual artist and art director based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

His work often reflects on social themes and follows a conceptual approach in which critical thought, the use of paradox and playing with context are key. Marc operates at the intersection of art and design.

The strength of his work lies in the creation of unusual and surprising associations that open up new perspectives. Marc uses his skills and expertise as an art director to turn these associations into powerful, striking visual imagery.

Pre Digital Post Analog - 'Pre Digital Post Analog’ is a three-dimensional homage to New Alphabet and its designer Wim Crouwel. As a student the experimental and progressive typography of New Alphabet was an inspiring eye-opener, broadening my graphic horizon. At the time of it’s release in 1967 New Alphabet was a revolutionary concept in designing new forms that fitted perfectly to the computer. Many of Crouwel’s peers were of the opinion that New Alphabet was too experimental and went too far. In 1996 New Alphabet got digitized and published by The Foundry and became an hit instantly.
