Mingus Janssen is a researcher, writer and cultural strategist, whose work focuses on uncovering the invisible systems that constitute modern-day society, therein specifically focusing on the invisible infrastructure of the Internet, and more recently delving into the representation of non-human entities in (printed) forms of news. Currently, Mingus Janssen is occupied with Mycelium Media, a publishing house focusing on (re)introducing more-than-human perspectives in printed forms of news, which he founded in 2022. Besides this, he is currently plotting to start a political party called “Ondergronds Socialisme”, which focuses on the political needs and desires of those organisms that live beneath the soil and crest of the Earth instead of on top of it, thereby intending to challenge the political system.
Het Onzithbare Zichtbaar
Deelname aan het project en de tentoonstelling "Het Onzichtbare Zichtbaar", waarin zes kunstenaars uitgenodigd werden om nieuw werk te maken dat het onzichtbare leven in het Amsterdamse Bos zichtbaar maakt. Speciaal voor deze tentoonstelling ontwikkelde ik een nieuwe editie van het Niet-Menselijk Nieuwsblad.

Coda Paper Art
In CODA Paper Art, Janssen turns the museum into the head office of Mycelium Media, a publisher that infiltrates existing publications and adds its own perspectives. Especially for CODA Paper Art, Mingus Janssen has created a new edition of the Non-Human Newspaper focusing on fertilisers and how they have acidified the ecosystem of the Veluwe, the region in which the museum is located.

Artist-in-residence at Goethe Institut Rotterdam
Tijdens de onderzoeksperiode bij het Goethe-Institut Rotterdam zal Mingus Janssen het ecosysteem in de haven van Rotterdam bestuderen om uiteindelijk de onderzoeksresultaten te bundelen in een nieuw nummer van de Non-Human Newspaper. The Non-Human Newspaper is een krant die wordt uitgegeven door Mingus Janssen's uitgeverij Mycelium Media. Elk nummer is gewijd aan een ander (bedreigd) ecosysteem en geschreven vanuit het perspectief van de entiteiten die onderdeel uit maken van dit ecosysteem.
