I create macabre and fantasy worlds where desire, identity and violence entangle. They emerge in conversation with people, matter, and landscape, each treated as collaborator. From this dialogue, I collect symbols and translate them into sound, sculpture, painting, and performance-to-video, folded together into immersive installations. Like speculative theme parks, these environments are joyful and camp, hand-built and abundant, inviting the audience into sensory excess. They give form to our collective imagination, blurring individual narratives and categories: bodies, substances, landscape, waste, indistinguishable.

The work begins with field visits, interviews and workshops, where we think through archetypes of horror, embodying and projecting our desires onto fictional worlds and situations. I draw from theory, history and myth: the cannibal savage, the alligator man, the mad woman, monsters — figures shaped by violence, exclusion, ecological anxiety. This research becomes material in the studio: collection and assemblage, field recordings, layered voice, scenarios turned into video and performance — sticking, collaging, building texture and tactility. I appropriate whatever is at hand — waste, found objects, pop-culture imagery, organic remains, textile, paper clay, paint — cross-contaminated, one material eating into the next.

I follow horror as method because it diagnoses what gets called desirable, what becomes repressed, punishable, eradicated. In horror and fantasy we surrender to our own materiality, no longer only subject, just a thing amongst things. Desire stops making sense. What dominant systems exclude begins to surface: new myths, identities, landscapes, alliances, pleasures. I extend this through long-term collaboration with LGBTIQ+ activists and communities, reclaiming what's been deemed abject, deviant, unnatural. Voices tangle. Matter asserts its own agency. Desire re-orients, inviting us, and the audience, to become something different.

The Alligator Man
The Alligator Man - • Collaboration with: Patri Roa Johansen and Mikayla Vieira Ribeiro • Painting and Sound Installation - acrylic on canvas, textile, plant fiber, metal, organic remains. • Dimensions: Multiple. Full space: 30 square meters Immersive installation that adapts and distorts the Colombian folk myth as a conduit for Latinx (trans)masculinity. Combining hand-painted textile scenography, sculpture, and sound, it stages Patri Roa Johansen's life-story — Latinx transman, drag king, activist — as a healing myth. Painted swamp ecologies, alligators, saunas, and toilets hang from scaffolding with found materials (metal, rope, net), building an immersive body-territory: illustration, scenography, living archive. Departing from Patri's auto-ethnographic anecdotes, our collaboration re-signifies the myth alongside Colombian archival river research. Mikayla shaped his experiences into a story; Natalia builds the world; Patri designs sound and voices it. We met in person for three weeks at HAUT. Grounded in trans, diasporic, and water bodies, it reframes toxic masculinity and ecologies to offer restorative alternatives for body-territory—addressing the violence of gender difference by cultivating care, transformation, and connection across people, environment, and place.

Q-LoXXX - • Collaboration with: Papaya Kuir, Pau(la) Chaves Bonilla, Flor Chavela, Paholy Lenar Alvarado, Francia Misha Bustamante Blanco, Sasha Aguilera, Yoacín “El Lobo” Villalobos, María Maíz Bermúdez, Alexandra Arévalo y La Aluxe Solis. • Performance-to-video – production stills • Duration: 20 minutes. One channel – digital video. • This work is currently in post-production. Performance-to-video in eight scenes, staging the creation myth from Cannibal Becomings. Set on a volcanic island where all earthly species exist in continuous mutation. Papier-mâché headdresses, painted scenography, animal-plant masks, and embodied phenomena turn performers into inhabitants. When the island's transformative nature is threatened by static forces, they perform a cannibal sacrifice to restore its cyclical state. We built characters, rehearsed, and performed them into being—departing from the collaboratively written myth and inhabiting its utopia experientially, scene by scene. Eight hand-painted backdrops, referencing stagecraft, anchor the film, keeping the stage visible. Performers shed species between backdrops, changing lives, roles, props. Filmed in a basement, channeling queer backrooms: secret, joyful. In Q LoXXX, nothing stays fixed. Beings are human, animal, and plant: feeding, fermenting, composting, devouring. Transformation isn't a threat—it keeps this world alive. Inhabitants live in care and pleasure, ecstatic and abundant, camp and grotesque. A horror story and world-building story: a community survives contamination by transforming together unpurely.

Cannibal Enfleshments
Cannibal Enfleshments - • Collaboration with: Papaya Kuir and its extended community. • Sculpture and drawing installation – Paper mache, metal, organic rope, corn cobs, found objects, tree sticks, soil and canvas. • Dimensions: Multiple. Full space:25 square meters. Installation of sculptural props, costumes, and ephemera built for Q LoXXX, embodying its volcanic island myth where mutating species perform a cannibal sacrifice to restore cyclical renewal. Sculptures collaged with landscapes, body parts, and mythical beings double as costume and prop. Corn cobs and chicha cups hang from a spider web or plant fiber; lightning bolts and raindrops swing over soil. Alongside hang illustrated research notations—watercolor and ink on canvas—forming a lexicon around the Cannibal. I gave form to the space, departing from our collective imagination. We built the myth together as a group—characters, timeframe, context, event, tone—then shaped it into a written origin story. The idea was to give the myth a world: to build the universe where each scene could unfold. I structured that story into a script and began materializing its characters in paper mâché, layered with collage, each piece carrying imagined landscapes and beings on the body. This let me play with the space itself, building the atmosphere of a different world. The lexicon grounds the theoretical research: drawings alongside writings on indigenous epistemology, queer theory, post humanism, and decolonial narrative. I combine those with research reflections and biological information, read through the lens of the kuir Cannibal—a transformative conceptual device for nomadic subjectivity within Latin American queer activism. Text and image hang alongside the objects, bringing the founding ideas behind this long-term project to the audience.

Full space:25 square meters. Cannibal Becomings is a long-term participatory research project reclaiming the cannibal—a colonial marker of savagery—through lived queer experience. Developed with Papaya Kuir, a lesbian-transfeminist collective for Latin American migrants and refugees in the Netherlands, it co-creates a myth re-signifying cannibalism as mutual contamination, interconnection, and hybrid identity. Working with 12 queer Latinx migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees gathered through an open call, we built co-creation workshops combining theory, collective reading, and embodied practice: readings on anthropophagic discourse and Amazonian epistemologies; meditations on multi-species becoming; role play on cannibal tendencies; counter maps of the body as territory; portraits as mutant beings; collective myth writing; collaged utopias; dance and performance filmed as video. The project grew from research into queer and ecological thoughts—dissolving culture/nature, human/animal, body/territory, self/other. Drawing on decolonial and cannibalistic discourse, it asks what it means to inhabit nomadic queer and trans subjectivity within the Latin American diaspora in Europe. Turning cannibalism from subjugation into method, the project practices interconnection and inter-contamination: letting energies and experiences be enjoyed between bodies.

Trash Revenge
Trash Revenge - The project is the first outcome of a storytelling and sculpture collaboration with Clem Edwards. Using trash collected from the exhibition space, we created a landscape that acts as a character inspired by horror films like The Blob. It embodies discarded and unwanted objects “taking revenge” by growing, absorbing, and transforming. This work deals with themes of the abject and the interplay between the ethereal and the material. By reclaiming trash and embedding it within a fictional narrative, we examine ideas of value, decay, and transformation, reflecting on both material agency and material excess. We use humor and fiction to address urgent societal questions while proposing joyful and imaginative futurities. Commissioned to create this piece at Brutus, we transformed the exhibition space into a shared studio. We employed a collaborative “Ping-Pong” process, exchanging ideas and experimenting with materials like polymer clay, paint, LED lights, and smoke. Built with pizza cartons, pigeon nests, appliance scraps, and street trash, the work integrates sculptural techniques and shared interests in horror, ghostly figures, and exaggeration.

On Desire
On Desire - • Accompanied by performers: Fyn [Sarafina] Paulina Bonita, Mariana Jurado, Lucija Gregov and Paloma Plantenga. • Performance - commisioned by O Festival for Opera, Music and Theater. • Duration: 40 minutes Live performance activating sculpture-based band Mud and Sticky Band, borrowing from music concerts. Five performers embody strings, bass, percussion, keys, and voice through physical action. Teeth chattering. Trunk stomped. Pill bottles shaking. Wax dripping. Cymbals crashing. Electricity rooting through soil. Mud speaking. Voices chanting. Lube and honey over roses. Sculptures reveal their own materiality—heavy, dripping, viscous, sticky. Working with a score, each performer is assigned a sculptural band member with its own sonic and movement register. Acting simultaneously, they follow the sound piece Mud and Sticky Band: Side A, as it moves between chronicle, song, and non-linear conversation, connecting ideas of desire and landscape. Props and actions draw on embodied research across the Netherlands, translating textures and shapes into choreography and material interaction. Music lets intuition override rationality. This performance turns that approach toward material and space, wandering how environment shapes desire, and conversely, how desire speaks through pop music and performance. What could a pop band made of trash monsters sound like? What do they sing about? How do they perform their music? The work examines relationships between objects, bodies, and space, letting matter lead choreography. Performers harmonize with each other and with the sculptures, focusing on material agency, sound, and movement.

Mud and Sticky Band
Mud and Sticky Band - Music band made of monster-like characters built from pop-culture waste, recycled materials and natural remains. This object-oriented sculptural band emits sound and voices from its insides, taking the shape of a sound installation. The project began with embodied research conducted in natural and urban locations across the Netherlands. Guided by Sara Ahmed's Orientations: Toward a Queer Phenomenology, I used this text as a manual to navigate these environments, exploring the interplay between bodies, spaces, non-human entities, and materials. The research involved intuitive object collection and reorganization, soundscape recordings, movement notations, and choreographies inspired by objects and spaces. These were complemented by detailed sound descriptions, conversations with friends, and workshops with students. This work has been guided by an interest in finding new ways of relating to matter, 'nature' and the environment. By allowing my desire and subjectivity to be shaped and transformed through these interactions, the project creates a dialogue between sound, texture, movement, and form, reflecting an evolving relationship with the material world.

The work combines a sculptural structure resembling human body parts with video, paintings, and transformed everyday objects: mannequin limbs, sleeping bags turned into snakes, fences with dripping liquids, wigs, spider webs, and clothing. The work blends different mediums and affective registers, inviting audiences to touch, hear, see, and move. The project is grounded in conversations around madness and magic with spiritual teachers, community members, and collaborators. In the films, I staged performative responses to texts, layering sound, symbols, and hybrid characters extracted from our dialogues. The installation brings each chapter's world to the audience — coloniality and diaspora in The Water, the animal-human dichotomy in The Animal, institutional biopolitics in The Nightmare, the body's capacity to exist beyond legibility in The Jungle. Through our conversations we deconstructed our perceptions of madness, challenging modernity's dichotomies — human/nature, body/mind, reason/intuition. It reflects on how colonial constructions of sanity crossed the ocean and were projected onto colonized peoples, and how that violence subjugated ethnic minorities, impoverished communities, women, and sexual dissidents. These entangles histories reveal how the Other is within us, and challenge fixed notions of identity, subjectivity, and cultural purism.

Sissy-phus and the Mother Mountain
Sissy-phus and the Mother Mountain - This video piece fictionalizes the myth of Sisyphus to reflect on the history of LGBTIQ+ resistance in Colombia, exploring the ongoing struggle for basic human rights amid systemic barriers imposed by successive governments. It draws parallels between Sisyphus's cyclical struggle and the LGBTIQ+ community's resistance, juxtaposing the Western myth with the Colombian myth of la Madremonte to address queerness, de-coloniality, and disobedience as acts of resistance. The work highlights systemic oppression and honors the contributions of activists like Diana Navarro Sanjuan and Camila Esguerra. The narrative follows Sissy-phus, who encounters characters and natural elements representing power structures, alongside la Madremonte. Incorporating Colombian news and political statements, the film weaves myth, history, and lived experience to create layered reflections on power, identity, and social justice.

Across cultures and histories, consciousness-altering practices by shamans, mystics, and other healers, have had a longstanding relationship with art making, and with sound and music in particular. At this time of radical planetary disorientation, imagining restorative processes by way of cosmic consciousness can assist us in creating fertile grounds towards a path of mourning and healing rooted in a collective capacity. The works in the exhibition invite us to consider multiple, re-enchanted..
