Its aim is to delve into my encounters with differing social values through food and eating rituals. Using an auto-ethnographic method and experimental archiving, I explore culinary narratives to unpack challenges stemming from the uncertainty of practicing ethnic recipes in the context of dislocation

Birthday canceled comic - Birthday parties are not fun at all! We hate receiving meaningless gifts, we don't want uninvited guests, we hate so many things related to BIRTHDAY! We just want to have a nice time!” Yes, you're probably hearing it right. This is an honest confession from two anti-birthday dummies, Alba and Phoebe. They're tired of this special day every year, they want to escape, they want to disappear to somewhere else but not stay at their parties. Some technical information about the zines: A5 size, 5 riso colors (blue, black, bright red, fluo pink, yellow), all together 45 numbered copies, paperback, self-published/self-printed in Rotterdam, 2022. Pip and his Quiet friend

Datum:
Locatie: Williem de Kooning Academy

"Pip and his Quiet friend" is a children's picture book project that focuses on the social norms and stigmas of introverts in a world apparently designed for extroverts. Extroverted society has brought specific terms only for introverts: shy, quiet, lonely, dull, unapproachable, unseen, etc... We are surrounded by self-help books, media and advertising produced by extroverts for introverts, and stereotypes and othering being made to contribute to the norms.
