My practice encompasses video works, short films, multidisciplinary installations, and live performances. My artistic vision is rooted in a desire to engage with non-normative forms of knowledge production which challenge dominant narratives and introduce a plurality of
perspectives for engaging with the world. I investigate the social and relational body by juxtaposing elements of intimacy, improvisation,
and non-fiction with performative methods and staged choreographies in site-specific locations or constructed sets.

I approach the body as a method of inquiry. I use interdisciplinary and collaborative artistic strategies and tools to develop somatic approaches, movement scores, games, and writing exercises. Through a methodology combining experiential and embodied learning, a multidisciplinary approach to performance and filmmaking, and an emphasis on collaborative production, I am developing a body of work that seeks to expand the storytelling and relational capacity of time-based media.

In 2022 I joined Filmwerkplaats, an artist-run film lab and collective of video-makers in Rotterdam, with the desire to deepen my knowledge and technical skills in analogue filmmaking. As a core member, I assist with producing our events, from guest talks and expanded-cinema performances to art residencies and the biennial Back to the Future Festival.

Constellations, installation view, 2026
Constellations, installation view, 2026 - Part of the Sincerely Yours exhibition at Pictura, Dordrecht, featuring works by Katarina Zdjelar, Clara J:son Borg and myself. Constellations is a series of four cyanotype prints on cotton. The prints act as a transhistorical web of relations, mapping gestures of tenderness and care from Western art history and everyday contexts. The use of cyanotype, a slow-reacting, UV-sensitive emulsion, reflects on the concept of the luminous opacity (Svetlana Boym, 2003) of friendship: its inability to be fully grasped, while being constantly reactive of and reflective to external conditions.

Tandru, solo-exhibition, 2024/2025
TANDRU, solo-exhibition, 2024/2025 - Body movements, textures, haptics and soft sounds are combined to create an intimate atmosphere that invites reflection. TANDRU continues the exploration of friendships as an inspirational model for contemporary relationships. The video, projection on semi-transparent curtains, employs movement and choreography to observe how friendship is manifested in the bodies of the performers. The site-specific installation includes a series of analog photographs and pastel drawings printed on thin fabric. These fabrics are hung on custom-made mobile structures, allowing visitors to move, rotate and interact with them. They act as a scenography for the space itself, opening up entry points into perpetually renewed familiar and abstract landscapes.

A language that is felt, solo exhibition, 2023/2024 - The first outcome of a long period of research into depictions of friendship between women across art history and literature. The work presented revolves around the history of friendship as told from a female perspective, riffing on Svetlana Boym's question 'what is the scenography of friendship?'. Fioritura, 16mm short film, 2023
Fioritura, 16mm short film, 2023 - Fioritura is a visceral suspension of the everyday. The protagonists navigate fizzing emotions and internal contradictions; they use disgust and touch to transition from the superficial to the personally profound. The bowels and the city cry for their attention. As sweeping hands dream of manicure, messages attached to herbal tea bags become instant prophecies. Fioritura is shot on 16mm and developed and processed manually at Filmwerkplaats, WORM Rotterdam. Fioritura was selected for the International Short Film Competition of L'Alternative Film Festival, Barcelona.

To Cast A Shadow, performance and video, 2018
To Cast A Shadow, performance and video, 2018 - Site-specific performance commissioned for the Art Encounters Biennial (RO). The performance takes place in a former water plant building from 1914, a location that holds remarkable acoustic properties due to its cylindrical architecture. For the content of the performance, I researched the four different levels of hearing and sound-making and related my findings to women solidarity in times of conflict, the relationship between loss of hearing and war, the use of sound for establishing a sense of identity and a relationship with one’s environment. The individual and group choreographies are also built based on inverted concepts such as “visual echoing”, “acoustic shadowing”, “seeing voices” and “speech banana”.

Suite for the Office, performance and video, 2017 - Suite for the Office is a site-specific choreography unfolding in the transit and waiting spaces of an office building. The architecture of the office building plays an essential role in defining the choreographic elements and the interactions taking place between the bodies of the performers and the body of the building. The performers' presence, movements, sounds and gestures reflect on feelings and social behaviors derived from post-Fordist labor environments, such as constant productivity and repetitiveness, dullness, seeing and being seen.

What’s Left From My Heart

Datum:
Locatie: Skånes konstförening
In samenwerking met: Ileana Faur, Skånes konstförening

Residency and exhibition at Skånes konstförening in Malmö. I produced a constellation of works in different mediums: ceramics, watercolors, video, sound and etchings. The work departed from embracing a state of not-knowing, caused by grief and the loss of a close person. In the making, this state can be understood as an active distancing from existing hierarchies of knowledge that prioritize rational approaches.

Residency, exhibition and performance in collaboration with Daniel Fogarty. Our research was focused on the ocean liner, a form of transportation that has delivered many tangible and untenable concepts; from fashion to war, weapons to dances, migration to tourism. The resulting exhibition experimented with the liner's complex history, trying to make it more than a historical backdrop. The show consisted of an installation of movable artworks that also acted as a set for the performance.

BODY SHIFT ERGO DRIFT is a performance that follows the logic of fragmentation, embracing a stage time that is neither linear nor narrative. The performance is the result of a mixed interest in social choreographies, the symptoms of neoliberal capitalism, shopping, disco music, industrial rhythm, effort and rest, care and self-care. The work reflects on labor and leisure, living patterns and the movement of bodies in space, from which it generates fluid and rigid rhythms and structures. the sta

Raluca Croitoru presented her Institute for Receipt Research and Experimentation, through a performance and a short film. Alternating between representation and abstraction, the experimental short film, entitled The Virtual Tour of the IIRRE (2016), follows a narrative at the border between fact and fiction. Through its structure, use of gestures and the presence of the voice, the film tackles concepts such as history-making, immateriality and interactivity in the digital world.

Raluca Croitoru introduces a site-specific performance that strikes up a dialogue with the history of Urseni Water Manufacturing in Timișoara, dating from the beginning of the last century. Using the shadow and the sonority as binding agents between the past and present, the body and space, the individual and collective, the artist searches to draw closer to the multiple histories that coexist and symbolically “contaminate” the bodies of buildings and bodies of the actors .
