Siiri Oksanen (b. 2000, Finland) is a visual artist/object designer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Through a tactile practice-oriented approach, Siiri’s work explores craft and materiality, its history and context, intertwining this with themes of power structures between humans and other-than-humans. Siiri’s work follows a tactile, practice-orientated approach, in which she is most curious about bringing new aspects of materiality visible. Through intervening in processes and treating materials outside of their binary position, materials become mediums for expressing layered narratives. Craft for Siiri acts as a method of establishing care and connection towards more-than-human beings, whilst also being a method of unraveling thought processes.
