Dear peers and contemporaries,
For the past year I have successfully negotiated with the Municipality of Schiedam a designated space for a 360m2 workshop. With my background being in ceramics and metal work fabrication I am aiming to establish a foundation with a creative mission in mind: to provide artists and designers with a capstone experience to launch their careers forward by giving them the resources (time, equipment, and exposure) to materialize projects into sculptures, research, and performances that can be hosted in partner institutions.
In order to accomplish this mission to the best of my abilities and the full potential of the space, I am looking for individuals to join the general board of the space. Ideally if you share a similar passion for the production stage of art-making, and believe in increasing hands-on manufacturing opportunities for artists.
The tasks of the board (broadly put) are making sure the activities of the people running the space day-to-day are aligning with the mission. This is more practical than creative and includes things like ANBI compliance, approving potential conflict of interests, asset management, and opening the bank account. The board meets 2-4 times per year, possibly more in the early life of the foundation.
