What happens to your art when you are no longer there? Legacy is a part of professional practice that sooner or later every artist or next of kin has to deal with. At the same time, it's a theme that most people don't understand engage in or like to dwell on. Because: leaving an artistic life is comprehensive. How do you manage this properly? What do you have to think about and how to get started?

On Wednesday 23 November, Art Office is organizing an information afternoon about inheritance. During this afternoon we will provide insight into various aspects of this subject and provide tools that will help you move forward. The aim is to make thinking about the legacy a natural part of professional practice. The official language is Dutch.

Program
The reason for this afternoon is the recent survey of John Blaak among Rotterdam visual artists about legacy. Ove Lucas, director of CBK Rotterdam, will discuss the most important results of theze investigation discuss with him. Miriam Windhausen, expert in the field of artist legacies and art historian, talks about different aspects of legacy. We then give the floor to two experts by experience. Jenna Bag, who as a visual artist is consciously and actively engaged in mapping and categorizing her oeuvre, shares her experiences in an image report and Martin te Winkel, who, as a friend, took care of the legacy of the visual artist David Flipse (1948-2007), talks about legacy as a social sculpture. The afternoon will be rounded off with the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. Afterwards there is an opportunity to chat over a drink.
