Event | GO West (Visual and Urban Arts Delfshaven)

During GO West (Visual and Urban Arts Delfshaven), artists, galleries, cafes, community centers and a nursing home throughout Delfshaven will open their doors. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May, artists will show their work in their own studio or at a guest location. There are 39 locations to visit. A walking or cycling route can be put together with the help of a handy program sheet.

In addition to all participating locations, special events are also listed there. The art weekend will take place on May 13 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 17 p.m. Participating locations can be found in historic Delfshaven, Coolhaveneiland, Bospolder-Tussendijken, Nieuwe Westen, Spangen and Oud-Mathenesse. The kick-off is on Friday 12 May at 17 pm in the Huidenclub (Pelgrimsstraat 5c).

A special event will take place at the Bollenpandje at Rosier Faassenstraat 22. This is a community center where projects and activities are carried out with community art as an instrument for social change. Together with artists Florian Braakman, Ximena Davolos and Isa Gaastra, a foretaste of the activities will be given during GO West. “We want to create a program with participatory art, aimed at opening dialogue on issues that are relevant to us.”

Sales exhibition Art Embassy Embassy

Also not to be missed is the sales exhibition of Kunstambassade Ambassade. This artists' initiative was created during the corona period to somewhat cope with the loss of presentations and assignments. The Kunstambassade Rotterdam is an online studio building where visual artists and art lovers find each other without barriers. A large group of artists affiliated with the Art Embassy exhibits small works and 20% of the sale goes to the solidarity fund that is divided among all artists. The sales exhibition takes place in the studio building at Borgerstraat 24.

GO West is made possible thanks to CBK Rotterdam.
