Event | Presentatie Waterwerken: Steven Jouwersma

The long-term Waterworks residence project is running on Buitenplaats Brienenoord. Steven Jouwersma is the tenth and last artist who has done research here on the island of Brienenoord into man and how he interacts with water.

On April 30, he will close this period with an informal presentation about the buildings built during this residency period Common Bread Sauna

Bread and water are basic necessities that bring people together. Steven Jouwersma found a large amount of wood on the island of Brienenoord, originating from the old bridge to the island. With this wood he makes a sauna that is heated with a bread & pizza oven.

The deepest point of the island is at the bottom of the basin, which used to be used for building the subway tunnel sections. This tank is now a pond that is the most beautiful place to cool off after a visit to the sauna.

At the deepest point of the island, the artist leaves behind a work that he will explain in a performative way during casting sessions in the sauna. You are all welcome to Sunday, April 30 from 14-17.30:XNUMX p.m at the presentation of Steven Jouwersma at the Buitenplaats Brienenoord (Eiland van Brienenoord)

It is possible to eat pizza from the Common Bread Sauna on this afternoon. The sauna can also be used. Reservation is not necessary.

Buitenplaats Brienenoord was created in part thanks to a contribution from the former CBK Rotterdam Activities City scheme. read here more about the financial arrangements of CBK Rotterdam.
