Event | Flow and Reflections (Tamar Frank)

From Friday 25 February 2022, light artist Tamar Frank . will present Flow & Reflections† Her installations 'Flow' and 'Reflections' show the connection between the two bridge houses of the Zaagmolenbrug and Parksluizen. The opening will take place at 18:30 pm at Westzeedijk 375. A streaming of the installation on the Zaagmolenbrug will be presented as well as a cycling route between the two locations.

Park locks
Tamar conducted research into the surroundings of the bridge houses of Zaagmolenbrug and Parksluizen and their connecting elements. Both houses are located directly on the water of two of Rotterdam's most important rivers, the Rotte and the Schie. Because the house at Parksluizen stands robustly and stably on the ground above the water, Tamar created an installation that pumps the water from the Schie into his body. This results in a 'stream' of water that lights up in the dark stones of its surroundings.

Sawmill bridge
At the Zaagmolenbrug she had the feeling that the bridge house was almost floating above the water of the Rotte. This inspired her to create her own response to the reflections of the river below with the use of mirrors and the connecting flow of water.

Flow & Reflections can be seen until May 27, 2022.

This project is partly realized thanks to a contribution from the scheme artistic activities in the city† With this contribution, CBK Rotterdam wants to use visual art to make the city more attractive and to give Rotterdam visual artists a role in it, thereby increasing their visibility.
