Exploring the intersections between protest movements, performance art, and the culinary arts through ongoing research.
When pursuing her bachelor’s degree in fine art at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (NL), Jonker specialised in the themes of public and private space. Her artwork after graduation was primarily concerned with public space, public rituals, and social issues. When she began her master’s studies at the Fine Art University in Chiang Mai (TH), Jonker shifted her focus from public to private experiences, rituals, and spaces, while not neglecting the importance of understanding how public elements relate to private ones. Her personal experiences in the Dutch squatting subculture have given her a unique insight into the nature of public and private space, and have been a significant part of her research.
Jonker's artworks are seen in various fields such as the public space, social centers, festivals as well as in museums and galleries. She works with various media depending on the concept.

1800 times
Performance, 30 minuten.

Red and Yellow
In Vietnam I see a very strong and specific food culture. When you dine or have a cup of tea you sit on tiny stools. In the street ladies sell fruits and vegetables in big woven baskets or plastic boxes. The use of material is very different. Plastic and natural materials go hand in hand as tools to serve, sell, prepare and eat food. The new and the traditional materials create an interesting cultural twist. Is food prepared with plastic tools as authentic as food prepared with natural tools? Do

Food 4 Thoughts
Lonneke’s background lies in the subculture(s) that have been created by squatting. Out of this culture, several things seemed to formulate all round the same time; such as free spaces, eateries, “giveaway” shops and various music and art styles. Through the Pirate Bay archive, Lonneke discovered the VHS, de hondenkoekjesfabriek (“Dog Cookies Factory”). This was a noise band that was linked to a building where all sorts of stories exist. Many of the properties of this subculture no longer exist
