Anuli Croon

painting - DIY - public space - analytical - abstract - figurative - history

I make paintings, work on paper
and major work in public spaces.

My paintings are constructions that are
composed of color areas and pattern fields.
These colors and patterns are collections
showing a diversity of shape, color and rhythm
the world we have designed comes together.

I am fascinated by the flat surface and molar
in a way for a naive point of view.

I use different points of view side by side.
Zoom in and zoom out. Details and the big story
are intertwined.

It is not all clear. I want it to work
leaves room for multiple interpretations,
and I am aware of all meanings
that the spectator can give to it.

That's why I use a simplified and
clear imagery. And I work with roller,
tape and templates so that the different
planes have no direction or structure
to have. And that represent the collections.
