Caroline Ellerbeck

painting - drawing - collage

Caroline Ellerbeck paints, makes collages and draws. Her free work - she illustrates in daily life for publishers, cultural institutions and commercial clients - she emphasizes everyday life. In 2021 she paid tribute to the Rotterdam café, of which she painted a multiple of 50 unique copies. Lost living rooms that used to be the meeting place in the district. Shortly after her graduation in 2000 from the Royal Academy in The Hague, she obtained herself a similar assignment, with which Caroline paid tribute to another typically Dutch phenomenon; the snackbar. In that year, the exhibition Frituur aan de Muur with 100 paintings of fries was shown in the LAK building in Leiden. Caroline likes to have her feet in the soil of her city garden. To resist the advancing concrete and stone, she likes to paint the scarce nature around her. Her collages are small still lifes depicting objects that people value.
