Daleen Bloemers

collage - digital technology - experimental - photography - painting

All kinds of traces and signs appear on Daleen Bloemers' collage-like canvases
each other. There are beginnings of brush strokes that suddenly stop again, a kind of 'head-footed' -
child's drawing and wild pencil scratches next to photos of skin folds and a digitally distorted image
portrait. Sometimes those images and characters are covered by semi-transparent layers or a
web of lines that makes you get lost in a playful but unknown cartoon. Bloemers
the main aim is to incorporate all those elements into a free and at the same time exciting composition
to bring together.
Bloemers drew inspiration from the candid creativity of her three-year-old twins
putting pencil to paper without inhibitions and without hindrance. An intuitive and open attitude
which contrasts with the adult world in which expectations, meanings and
manners are stuck in frameworks and patterns.
