Driessens en van den Baar WANDSCHAPPEN

textile - social-social - soft sculptures - figurative - design

As artists we develop images with a vision of current events, as they are palpable in our immediate environment. Our mission is to seduce with the images, to then reveal a deeper message that causes doubt and encourages reconsideration. We achieve this by continuing to analyze, rediscover and innovate our own developed working methods in order to contribute to a deeper insight into the world in which we live together.
As an artist duo we have been working together on an extensive oeuvre since 1999. Our collective energy and attention can always be found in all works of art that relate to the city of Rotterdam and developments in the world. The stages in the art and design world ensure visibility, sales and new questions. In this we realize our own space and meaning. The studio is the epicenter, from which new work is created with a small group of specialists.

Collateral Damage

Exhibition / presentation

  • 13-10-2023 t/m 07-01-2024
  • Location: Gallery Untitled, Rotterdam
  • Works in which nature and the landscape as both a protective and threatened phenomenon are the starting point. Part of it is connected to the disappearance of people on the run, in the sea, in forests (fires), in mountains and deserts, on their way to Europe and looking for a new life. Another part is about the disappearance of nature itself, as a result of our human actions.

"Greenpower" is one of approximately 25 works of art that were specially commissioned for the "Boven op Zuid" project. There were 15.000 visitors.

Artists immediately miss an income because of this, they often work as freelancers in the cultural sector. Therefor we've arranged this virtual show and meeting to sell smart art works.
