sculpting - painting

The current work consists of sculptures and paintings constructed from many layers of pigmented plaster that feed on the history of geology, abstraction, physics, Japanese Wabi-Sabi, Kintsugi, Suiseki, digital imaging, psychedelic imagery, animism, and other sources. There is a constant sensitivity to atmospheric and graphic, abstract and figurative, silent and chaotic forces. We seek to curb all these influences and forces in meaning and visual opulence, in commercial culture and content, and we often deliberately cultivate an artificial, chemically colored sense in soft and polished amorphous monolithic sculptures.
