photography - audiovisual - film - video archives

In my photographic work, the urban landscape is alternately defined by stillness, abstraction, reflection and movement. For a long time I avoided making series, I focused on the photo as a standalone work. This has changed over the years. With the growth of my oeuvre, I position my work more often in project form. I take large format photos that I show in exhibitions. I also make long-term archives, which take shape in books. In addition, I also make video works and recently even a film.

If I could put a general label on my work, I would label it 'archeology avant la lettre'. What I do is sort of a visual digging. I capture the fleeting life by not only photographing the actors in that large play, putting a lot of emphasis on the set. I show life through the artifacts that go with it. My biggest challenge is to make the images in such a way that they function as key moments of the time in which I live.
