I make the visual works with various natural materials such as stone, wood, etc. that are found at the location where I make the work. They are almost always public works in the sense that I make them in locations where there is a lot of traffic. The works are a kind of intervention in nature. I want to bring a sense of mystery to these areas and to do so I use a visual language that falls somewhere between natural architecture and primitive religious/spiritual symbols.
I also regularly do performances. They are usually quite musically oriented and I also work a lot with musicians.

    • Series of public and unsolicited works made in parks, squares, etc. The idea is to change the atmosphere of a location through adjustments to the existing natural structures

    Research and publication of religious graphic expressions in South Rotterdam.

    • With the support of the municipality of Rotterdam, I was able to carry out a study, which eventually resulted in a small publication. The research question is: “to what extent do different forms of religious design influence the daily life of believers in South Rotterdam and how does that daily life influence the religious design?”

    • Schade is a lifestyle magazine about the Rotterdam art world. For each edition we interview a few Rotterdam artists about their personal lives. The magazine is modeled after gossip and lifestyle magazines and comes out about 3 times a year

    • Location: Street, Rotterdam
    • Organization of and participation in street performances in Rotterdam. Partly due to the lack of performance options due to corona, I initiated a project in which artists visit random houses to put the well-known statement "Every person is an artist" into practice. The aim is to develop performances with non-artists/ordinary local residents. I do this about 4 times a year. Including in Oud-Charlois, Pompenburg, Ombloed, the Oude Noorden and more.

    • "Jacco When" is a pseudonym I use for a series of performances. The performances I do under this name are influenced by the interaction between pop culture and spirituality/religion. The term "occulture" covers it to a certain extent. I have been doing these performances since 2018, but in 2023 I made a vinyl record with this project. This was released on vinyl in February 2023.
