My name is Jeroen JJ Graus and I have been working on a project called Fundament of Construction since 2013. This project reflects my fascination for people, technology and the future and consists of drawings, animations, video art and installations. The drawings show, among other things, a constructed reality composed of a remix of technology, antiquity, symbols and the human figure. For me, this project is an ode to the power of technology and its unlimited possibilities. The questions I ask are: where does the power of people / community lie and where does the power of technology lie? Can we combine these forces and make them accessible to every individual worldwide? Where is technology leading us? Is there some sort of 'end point'? Can technology all people (despite cultures / origins / religion) lead us to a collective unity? Technology has already become a 'binding agent' for almost the entire world. The corana pandemic shows this visibly and clearly.
