Jeroen Jongeleen

conceptual - graffiti - installation - land art - public space

Jeroen Jongeleen is an adventurous artist who always looks for unexpected paths in his explorations of the urban landscape. His works are like 'traces' that are somewhere between activism and intervention art, strongly influenced by the art movements of the avant-garde from the last century. As a contemporary member of the 'Situationist International', Jongeleen speaks with his hands, leaving his mark as he runs and climbs: an ode to the rough edges of urban life.
He has previously left defiant plastic shopping bags on buildings in the city, as a “triumph of the wind on the high-rise” or more recently bicycle tires as circles in the tree. His less-happy smileys give the passer-by a wink from yet another state of mind. From his love for the elephant path, he endlessly ran his own grooves into circles in the grass and moved reconstruction works of art to save them from the demolition hammer.
