DIY

Within my work I play freely with the illusion of structure, space and mind. Characterized by non-conformity, in drawings, paintings and prints, sculptures, improvisation in performance and experimental soundscapes; the presentation of my work usually takes the form of installations containing all these elements, attempting to take the viewer into a closed-off experience of a planet that I have carefully constructed. My autonomous work reflects on issues of power structures, social, political and cultural constructs and their role in limiting human behavior. As a satirical response to these systematic constructions, my work breathes absurdity and structured chaos.

As the founder of Raam Maar, I see it as my task to make drawing as accessible as possible, by means of window exhibitions, publishing publications, giving workshops and organizing special events with a focus on drawing.
