Karin Arink

sculpture - conceptual - crossover - photography

Karin Arink makes (wearable) objects and often re-photographs these to make metamorphosing 'states of self' visible. Her works embody these 'states of self': interactions between corporeality and ideas on how you should manifest yourself – through body postures, garments, language. Through transforming (physical) shapes, she works reconnect narrative interpretations of who "I" could be, to an affect-rich experience of existence. This way, her position (as a white woman, as partner, mother, artist, ..) is visually reflected upon.
