In collaborations I find the limitation necessary to channel associations. I gain a new perspective on a subject through others and can use it to detect blind spots in my own perception. In a drawing or painting I prefer to look at the remaining space. About what lies in the dark, the margins, the unnameable. I've always had trouble pinpointing a topic that interests me. And I often found a concept too insufficiently concrete to enter into a relationship with the medium of drawing or painting. I love it when ideas turn into matter. The language of the visual arts is exciting because it cannot be precisely described. With that 'vague' interest I then enter a field into which I am invited by others. At the moment, a book with an essay of a series of images with text fragments is the most convenient medium.

    • Hollandertjes - During the process of rehearsing and drawing some fragments of the play Fri Yeye stuck in my head. For instance the recurring theme of 'Hollandertjes'. I made an etching. Every new state is a new chapter. In this second state one can see the dutch woman wearing a ship on fire like a yoke. . She and her man seem to contemplate the fire quietely.
    Book of T-shirts of Lamu - Hand made book for Lamu Maktaba ya Sanaa In Lamu t-shirt culture isboming. People, mostly boys , buy their shirts in Tumba, second hand stores. While making photographs of t-shirts and their owners I contemplated how I could publish these without violating the privacy of the owners. I could not decide, but I copied the photgraphs by hand in paint.

    Publicatie Bleeding in the Water - Tijdens dit project ontstonden 100 tekeningen die samen een essay vormen. Er is in de publicatie in het midden ook werk opgenomen van Lea von Terzi.
